Abstract

In the upright Islamic culture (al-salêm), Islam does not recognize restraint, intimidation, or discriminatory attitudes toward women. Islam fully equates men and women. In the sight of God, all are equal, except for piety. However, in order to optimize the role and position of humans as khalîfatun fil ardhi, Islam has its own concept in addressing the plurality of the children of Adam. Because of such methods, such as the distribution of inheritance, the right of divorce in the household, and matters of witness, Islam is forced to take such a unique path, which sometimes humans themselves do not understand how Islam provides the best solution to avoid moral decadence, cultural recession, and the degradation of the mission of the caliphate, which is not only for its people, but rahmatan lil ‘alamin. In fact, only Islam is able to appreciate the role and position of women proportionally, compared to other religions in this world, both the Old and New Testaments (the Gospels or both known as the Bible). Islam, with its clear and syllabary, explicitly describes women with respect, praise, and admiration. Islam highly values women, treating them equally with men. As we all know, most verses in the Quran that address piety and hope, punishment and reward, place men and women in a position of "equal standing and equal standing."
